Trestle Held Their Annual Holiday Gala On Sunday, November 22, 2015

“A Step Back In Time: Celebrating Newburgh’s 150th Commemoration Of The City Charter”…people came out and celebrated the beginning of the holidays with us, as we stepped back in time…

The afternoon was celebrated with Jazz, Food, Photos & More, from 2:00-5:00 pm at the Meadowbrook Lodge, New Windsor, NY. Included was a special celebration of Newburgh in Photos through the eyes of Ralph Aiello and the stories Carl Aiello shared. As holiday spirits were enkindled, and the holiday season was brought in, we celebrated 150 years of Newburgh together!

  • Palates were savored with hot & cold hôr d’oeuvres: antipasto, cocktail meatballs, chilled shrimp, wrapped sea scallops, skewered chicken, spring rolls, cheese platters, pasta & carving stations, and more, coffee & dessert.
  • Everyone received a glass of champagne in antique glasses, as they walked in the door; there was unlimited wine & a cash bar.
  • Chris Dare, International Illusionist, mesmerized us with his personal “magic with a purpose.”
  • The music of The Joe Carozza Jazz Band, #1 in Rhythm & News, uplifted us.
  • Trestle’s first Calendar was unveiled: Newburgh’s Limited Edition 150th Newburgh Commemorative Calendar; preordered calendars were distributed, additional orders were taken ($20.00).
  • Tickets were $75.00 each.
  • Proceeds were used to support Trestle’s art initiatives in the New Year.

As we stepped back in time… it was an afternoon full of holiday festivities, uplifting jazz that captivated dancing feet! People who attended stepped back in time & celebrated the the beginning of the holidays with us! It was an absolutely beautiful afternoon! Thank you.

There was a Call to Artists with 37 sidewalk sections available. Artists were asked to find a way to add a jack’o’lantern within their art painting; chalk was provided. Local restaurants had Halloween treats for the young ones and pumpkin beverages and refreshments available. The weather was absolutely beautiful, with sunshine and balmy temperatures.

YOUNG PALETTES ENVISION ILLUMINATION DISPLAY Newburgh Illuminated: Saturday, June 21, 2014

Last year, Trestle Inc. sponsored Young Palettes Envision Illumination in collaboration with the Newburgh Enlarged City School District. Young Palettes (youth) created concepts of illumination in pieces of art; they were collected and hung in Downing Park during Newburgh Illuminated 2013. Selected pieces were framed and placed on display at the Newburgh Free Library. After raising sponsorships for funding, they will be turned into art panel banners and will hang in the City of Newburgh. In the meantime, look for exhibits of Young Palettes in local venues.

A trip to Pocono Downs was enjoyed by a busload of local residents on Monday, April 7, 2014. For their $40, everyone received a $10 food coupon, $20 in slots, a comfortable bus ride, and an exciting day. Thank you to Angie Bloomer for her dedication in organizing this excursion.
